Make Your 2008 Ironman Experience Mean Even More. Join “Tri-ing
for Children’s” Charity Team with the Janus Charity Challenge, and Raise Funds for Your Choice Of Children’s
Hospitals and Programs, All for Great Rewards.
Dear Ironman Candidate:
In conjunction with the
Janus Charity Challenge, we would be honored to have you be part of the Tri-ing for Children’s team and dedicate your
Ironman experience this year to raise funds for our nation’s children’s hospitals, which are in great need of
financial support in so many ways. All levels of Ironman triathletes can join,
whether this is your first Ironman experience or your fifth. To make it a personal
experience, you will be allowed to choose which children’s hospital you will be competing in honor of and the program
or programs you would like your donations to support. Donations are tax deductible,
and qualify for available matching gifts programs for 501(c)3 organizations. In
addition, you will be part of the Janus Charity Challenge, which makes it easy to raise pledges with an on-line system and
email communications to your supporters. You will receive recognition through
the program, and have the potential to qualify for additional matching under the Janus Challenge program.
Along with the emotional
benefits of being part of this team, you’ll first receive your Headsweats Miles for Smiles hat and participation pin. You’ll then set a pledge goal to earn a range of fantastic rewards up to
a Blue Seventy Helix™ wetsuit ($450 value) or a Computrainer bike simulator ($1200 value), along with a beautiful
men’s or women’s sterling necklace that you can wear as a reminder of your effort, after your Ironman experience
becomes just a memory. (Option is available to receive all your rewards upfront
to have them available to use yet this year.)
To get started, complete the on-line registration form (see link above). You will then receive your welcome kit via email with instructions for establishing your on-line charity
fund raising page, and to register with Janus Charity program.
You will have the
option once we receive your registration form to purchase a charity uniform; to insure correct sizing and availability,
your order must be received by April 1. Uniforms will be available toward
the end of May to wear for your whole tri season 2007. (After April 1, we cannot guarantee
sizing or availability.) The uniforms, by Voler, are beautiful high quality
men’s and women’s five color jerseys (short or no-sleeve), tri-shorts, bike shorts, and tri-bra tops, and definitely
will get you noticed and raise some cheers of support. (See team picture above..note the design will have slight modifications
for this year.)
By joining the Tri-ing
for Children’s charity team, we hope it will give you that extra positive incentive to get through a grueling day, and
bring heartfelt meaning to crossing the finish line.
