The Charity and Mission of Tri-ing for Children’s, Inc.
Welcome to Tri-ing for Children's and thank you for joining this effort to
support children that are sick, abused or physically handicapped and provide hope that many childhood illnesses can be cured,
all while making the future for our children a better place through health, exercise and a positive lifestyle.
In just the first five years since the charity began in 2005, we have donated over $125,000
to children's hospitals through Tri-ing for Children's Triathlon and fundraising by Ironman triathletes. Hospitals who
have benefitted from TFC include:
-Children's of Wisconsin
-UW Health American Family Children's Hospital
-Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital at University
of Ohio
-St. Francis
Children's Hospital, Tulsa, OK
-Children's Memorial of Chicago
-Children's of St. Paul
-Children's
Hospitals of New Orleans.
Tri-ing for Children's funds have benefited a range of programs including cancer research, orthopedic
and physical therapy, dental programs, child life, and health and wellness programs, specifically those programs underway
in selected Madison area public school in affiliation with UW Health children's hospital effort, as well as the Downtown Clinic
for Children's of Wisconsin.
The overall mission of Tri-ing for Children’s is:
· To provide funding for children’s hospitals and affiliated
programs through the monetary commitment of triathletes, and through designated Tri-ing for Children’s triathlons and
events.
· To provide support and funding for programs sponsored by children’s
hospitals that focus on promoting the long-term health of high-risk and all children through exercise, nutritional counseling,
and a more positive outlook.
· To promote the healthy aspects of the triathlon lifestyle by
providing opportunities which encourage more adults and youth of all races to participate in triathlons.
We truly hope that being a participant in Tri-ing for Children’s allows you another reason to
enjoy the sport of triathlon.
